WORCESTERSHIRE were put under the cosh by Northamptonshire's batsmen on the second day of their Second XI Championship encounter at Kidderminster's Chester Road ground.

The visitors piled up 500-9 in their first innings before declaring, led by Tom Huggins (210), D Wright (97) and Graeme Swann (86).

Jason Young (3-76) was the most successful bowler.

The County closed on 59-2 in their second innings, still 65 behind, with Steve Moore un-beaten on 39.
