FLOWER SHOW: With almost two months still to go before the big day, Badsey Flower Show has already received numerous complaints. However, these are not from irate entrants, or stallholders failing to secure a pitch in 'Gazebo Row'. They are entries in the show's literature competition. Will Dallimore, who instigated the competition several years ago said: "The British are well known for not complaining, so here is a chance for them to let off steam, albeit fictitiously." The flower show, the oldest in the Vale, takes place on Saturday, July 26, and offers a full afternoon's entertainment. Carrie John, the show's vice-chair said: "Schedules are now available from various outlets in the village with an online version on the village website which also includes downloadable entry forms." Carrie also reminded last year's cup-holders to return their cups and trophies by July 1, preferably as clean as when they received them. Not that she is complaining!
