Two star

I THOUGHT we had seen the last of this girl group after they won the battle against the boy band in the over-hyped television show Popstars The Rivals.

They had a Christmas number one hit with Sound of the Underground and then word on the girls went all quiet for several months.

But alas, the girls have obviously been working hard on their first album and have just released their second single No Good Advice which, despite the original media frenzy, didn't reach number one.

And the reason, one can only assume, is the nation is sick to the back teeth of manufactured pop groups whittled down from thousands of youngsters desperate for fame.

To be fair, the five stunning girls who have good voices and very much look the part.

But there were bits of every song on this album reminiscent of other songs made famous by other bands - there was almost an Oasis feel to one of the tracks.

There is nothing striking about the album and there is nothing original to set it apart from all the other manufactured stuff in the charts today, but it's not a bad first attempt.

Whether they are around this time next year is questionable.

I liked Life Got Cold and, although very cheesy, you can't help but tap your feet to the Sound of the Underground and No Good Advice.
