Charles Crump, of Stourbridge Road, Bromsgrove, claimed £27 7s and 6d (£27.37) in damages after an articulated lorry, which was laden with six tons of tubular steel, mounted the footpath and crashed into a low garden wall. The driver was held by the judge to be guilty of negligence.

Bromsgrove Trades Council criticised the Midland Red bus company charges after the reduction in fuel costs. There was an approved majority vote and the complaint was to be sent to the Midland Federation of Trades Councils.

In celebration of the Queen's Coronation a carnival was held in Bromsgrove in aid of the Friends of Bromsgrove Hospitals. Praise was lavished on the members of the carnival committee for their enthusiasm and effort and they managed to raise over £250 for the hospital funds.

A Bromsgrove family was successful in its appeal to transform a former warehouse in Windsor Street into an electric welding firm. The decision to reject the scheme by the urban district council was overturned by the Minister of Local Government. The firm, Alfred Hall and sons, was allowed to operate so long as there were no electric motors or power plant and no hammering, forging or grinding.
