A STRONG first half performance in which they built up a two goal lead set Tenbury Under 12s on the way to victory in the South Shropshire Junior League Pitt and Minton Cup against Cleobury Mortimer.
Tenbury's first goal came from an excellent team move finished off when Wayne Farrar shot powerfully into the Cleobury net.
Charlie Parker then narrowly missed with a shot that 'screamed' past the Cleobury goal before Ashley Morris added the second.
The second half began with Cleobury pressing hard to stay in the game but the Tenbury defence remained solid. When Cleobury did break through David Rigby in the Tenbury goal proved an impenetrable last line of dence.
Wayne Farrar scored his second and Tenbury's third goal and with 15 minutes left Cleobury scored a consolation goal.
