The two-day festival at Evesham was all about the succulent Vale delicacy with a world-wide reputation.
The first Vale of Evesham Asparagus Festival on Workman Gardens on Sunday and Monday attracted more than 4,000 visitors and Miss Mellor, marketing manager of Bomfords, of Luddington, Stratford, hosts of the event, said they were so pleased with the turn-out that they were looking to make it a major annual event in the Vale's calendar of highlights.
