ROYAL correspondent Jennie Bond and the nation's favourite stargazer Patrick Moore are two speakers lined up for talks in the area over the next week.

Since becoming BBC Royal Correspondent in 1989, Jennie Bond's reporting assignments have included royal marriages and divorces, the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret and the Queen's Golden Jubilee.

She has worked on newspapers, radio, and has presented the television news. She has written Reporting Royalty and Elizabeth: 50 Glorious Years, a celebration of the queen's reign. Now, however, she has decided to give up her role in favour of a freelance career.

Hear her anecdotes at The Forum Theatre in Malvern on Tuesday, June 3. Call the box office on 01684 892277 or log on to www.malvern-theatres.co.uk.

In Tewkesbury on Sunday, a star of galactic proportions himself, Patrick Moore celebrates his 80th birthday with a new lecture and slide show called Mars: The Next Frontier.

Manned space missions are now a possibility and probes are set to land on the Red Planet soon and in the meantime, Sir Patrick will be telling what we can expect, showing latest discoveries and sharing his own theories and predictions.

Patrick Moore appears at The Roses Theatre. For tickets, call the box office on 01684 295074.
