NIGEL Davenport grabbed five wickets in Kidderminster's 40 run win over Harborne in the third round of the National Knockout.

Kidderminster batted first and Jonathan Wright (57) partnered by Ted Baylis (35) produced 91 runs.

Vic Lawes suffered a third successive duck but Craig Wood continued to make run-making look easy and he finished 60 not out.

His partner in the closing stages was Danny Jeavons, who despite going in well down the order, was 32 not out, helping Kidderminster to 238 including a slight hold up for the rain.

Harborne's Mark Thompson had taken 5-25, and Zahid Mahmood 2-47.

Harborne needed to score at just under 5.5 runs per over to win and scored 82 before they lost their first wicket when Matt Foster was caught by Davenport off the bowling of Wright for 33.

Andy Lloyd was then caught and bowled by Danny Jeavons for one.

A good stumping by Duncan Willetts off Wright's bowling saw the departure of Simon Gear for a valuable 41.

Despite some good batting Kidderminster fielded well to keep the rate down.

Davenport removed Peter Stevens and James Moreton before knocking off the tail to finish with 5-37 from nine overs.

WrighT took 2-32, HUmphries 2-48 and Jeavons 1-34.
