MARLPOOL Lane was the venue on Saturday as North Midlands missed out on promotion to next season's Tetley's County Championship.
They were defeated 38-12 by Hertfordshire in a play-off at Kidderminster Carolians' ground and will play in the Shield for a third consecutive season in 2003/04.
