CRAIG Chalmers was delighted with Worcester Rugby Club's 53-3 demolition of Birmingham & Solihull which kept them on top of the fledgling National One table.

The record-breaking Scotland fly-half was behind most of Worcester's best moments at Sixways on Saturday in his first full start since his summer move.

But the 32-year-old was just pleased to get through 80 minutes -- his first full game since April because of a knee injury.

"For me I think I can improve a lot on the way I've played today, I just need to get a few games under my belt," he said. "I was a bit tired at the end but I enjoyed the game. Worcester is a great place to play, great surface, good crowd and we have a good set of boys. At the moment, it's looking good."

Ben Hinshelwood and Winston Stanley both bagged two tries, while Tony Windo, Chris Yates and last week's hero Chris Garrard also scored in the romp.

The outside-half paid tribute to the back-line who proved too hot to handle for visiting Birmingham.

"There's certainly some gas out there! Winston, Chris and Ben all have good pace and they are excellent finishers. The wingers have made a great start to the season, let's hope we can continue to set them up because you know they will finish well.

"We are all desperate to get Worcester into the Premiership. Of course the two games have been a good start for us but we all know there is a long way to go so everyone has their feet on the ground."
