JOHN Brain has ruled out a dip into the transfer market for a new fly-half despite injury to Craig Chalmers.

The former Scottish international has only played in one and a half league games for Worcester Rugby Club since his summer move and is set for another stay on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury.

However, the Sixways chief be-lieves fellow stand-off Tony Yapp is the ideal replacement for Chalmers, while academy young guns Dan Cullen and Jon Higgins will provide extra cover for the number ten shirt.

Brain takes his side to London Welsh tomorrow for Worcester's second away test of the season with the former Gloucester man confident Yapp and co will get the job done this season.

"I am not looking to bring anyone else in for this season," he said. "I think Craig has been unlucky so far. You always look, during the season, to be able to strengthen the squad but I'm not specifically looking for a number ten. Tony Yapp came on against Rotherham on Saturday and did a very good job. We've got a lot of confidence in Tony."

"We've all got to work hard and make sure we get Craig fit," he added. "Hopefully, he can string a couple of games together. If he does that, I'm sure he'll go from strength to strength."

Looking ahead to tomorrow's clash at Old Deer Park, Brain has warned his team not to take the Welsh lightly as they go in search of their fifth National One win from as many matches.

Brain watched London Welsh tackle Rotherham in the recent win for the South Yorkshire club but was impressed with Adrian Davies' fifth placed outfit.

"They are a good side," he said. "They play expansive rugby and are well coached. In the Rotherham game, they were actually unlucky to lose."
