ARTISTS from all over the world have been vying for the honour of designing a Roman mural for one of Alcester's most prominent buildings, Globe House.
There were nearly 200 inquiries from people as far away as Sweden, with 79 submitting formal applications and portfolios.
Eventually judges chose Andy Howell, of Powys.
Mr Howell is currently working on a number of ideas, part of which may be incorporated in a town logo.
He is expected to mount the final design in time for the opening of the heritage centre later this year.
The £10,500 project has been organised by the town's heritage committee.
