TWO wins and a draw from their opening trio of Evesham and District Lad-ies League fixtures represents a splendid start for Evesham Rowing Club.
Trish Clarke, who played in all three matches, partnered Michelle Browne as the pair produced the best display in a 4-0 defeat of Inkberrow.
Having lost the first set 7-6, they bounced back to take the next, again on a tie-break, and then whitewash their opponents in the decider.
Results (bt Aston Cantlow 3-1): Jill Stevens & Marianna Saunders lost 6-4, 6-4, won 6-0-, 6-1. T Clarke & J Currie won 6-4, 6-2 & 6-1, 6-4.
(drew with Littleton B 2-2): T Clarke & Sue Lomas lost 6-1, 6-3, won 6-3, 7-5). Enid Walker & Ann Retallick won 6-2, 6-3, lost 6-2, 6-4.
(bt Inkberrow 4-0): Lorna Thompson & Julie Newman won 6-3, 6-2 & 6-2, 6-0. T Clarke & M Browne won 6-2, 6-3 & 6-7, 7-6, 6-0.
