CATSHILL youngsters are being urged to play their part in the development of the village by designing a new skateboard park.

Members of the Catshill 2020 initiative are keen to involve the whole community in their project after a successful first meeting at Catshill Middle School in Meadow Road on Thursday May 8.

Publicity Officer, Catherine Simcox said: "With the project looking at the vision of Catshill in 20 years time I believe it is important to involve the young villagers and one the things that is of great interest to teenagers at the moment is skateboarding.

"We will have to look at safety aspects and whether we have the maintenance to support it but a new skate board park is certainly a possibility."

Catherine added the first meeting had been a great success, joined by the police, Bromsgrove District Councillors and representatives from Catshill Middle School.

The overview was given by Dale Carter, Chair of the creation of CATSHILL 2020.

Don Prust, Vice Chair, said: " It was a very successful night, met with enthusiasm by our residents, and questions being raised by young and old. Offers of help to support the cause shows that CATSHILL 2020 is being taken seriously, and we are viewed as a competent, forward thinking group."
