LET me dispel the myth that speed cameras are solely revenue collectors for the police.

They're operated by a partnership of the Highways Agency, the Magistrates County Service, West Mercia police, the county council, and Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust.

Cameras aren't just put up to catch speeders. There must be a proven record of deaths at a particular spot.

And all cameras must be clearly visible to actually reduce speed, rather than catch speeding drivers.

I know it's easy to unintentionally exceed the limit. But if you're only just over, you have plenty of time to slow down.
