WORCESTER Rugby Club have swooped for Swansea openside flanker Dean Thomas.

The 27-year-old has not been offered a contract by the newly formed Swansea-Neath regional team and will link up with Keast and director of rugby John Brain after signing a one-year deal.

"He's been a one-club man," said Brain. "However, he's not been offered a contract and we're delighted to have him.

"Dean's got a reputation of being a very hard working player and very aggressive when it is needed."

Thomas toured with Wales in 1998 on trips to Zimbabwe and South Africa and will go head to head with Gavin Pfister for a first team spot at Worcester, if the South African decides to re-sign.

"We've taken the opportunity to renegotiate Gavin's terms," added Brain. "He has a decision to make but we needed to bring someone in after releasing Richard Nias."
