MANAGER John Barton is being forced to play a game of wait and see with Worcester City's injury list.

Training was scrapped last night to concentrate on treatment of players carrying knocks, but the St George's Lane boss will have a clearer idea of availability when they next meet again on Thursday.

However, there were grounds for optimism ahead of this weekend's clash at Grantham with Pat Lyons' thigh improving and Darren Middleton able to do some running with no ill effects on his groin strain.

Stewart Hadley and Allan Davies are carrying groin niggles but should be in the frame for Saturday, while David Holmes is another with a groin strain.

Mark Owen had hopes of a return to training this week but is still suffering soreness relating to his groin problem.

Paul Carty and Mitch Counsell will both be available after completing suspensions.
