A QUESTION mark hangs over whether pace ace Nantie Hayward will be included in Worcestershire's team for tomorrow's Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy fourth round clash with holders Yorkshire at New Road (10.45am).

The South African's fitness has yet to be assessed after he suffered a bruised foot in the County's home Frizzell County Championship Division Two match against Gloucestershire which ended in a 111-run win on Saturday.

It forced him to miss Sunday's 139-run National League Division One triumph over Kent at New Road.

"It's bruising that's all, but with him not quite being 100 per cent we didn't want to push our luck with it," said the County's director of cricket Tom Moody today.

Although Hayward is likely to be fit to take his place in the squad it is not certain he will be in the side, particularly after such an impressive team performance against Kent.

Following the rain interrupted start to the season, the County are still working on getting the right balance for their one-day side.

The formula against Kent worked perfectly and an unchanged team tomorrow is a possibility.

"We have got some serious cricket in now and converting good positions into wins. Saturday and Sunday was a great example of how well we can play," said Moody.

He admits the Tykes, who won the Trophy last year by beating Somerset by six wickets in the final at Lord's, have players 'who can turn a game.' He said: "As champions Yorkshire will be desperate to hang on to their crown and they have a side packed with players who can turn a game.

"However, we know we have a team capable of beating anybody if we perform at our best and we go into the match confident of success."

New Road skipper Ben Smith said: "The C&G, as we all know, is a knockout competition and it can go down to whoever plays best on the day.

"They won it last year so there's every right to believe they have a good side, but I'd back ourselves with the form we are in with bat and ball."
