ADAM Wilde has set himself a target of 10 goals for the season after opening his Worcester City account on Saturday.

The flying winger earned rave reviews for his display at Hastings United where he hit the net after just seven minutes.

Wilde is delighted with his move to St George's Lane and remained unruffled despite joining City in the middle of a goalless streak.

"I knew they were going through a bit of a lean spell when I arrived and the first two games I played drew blanks but every team goes through that and it didn't worry me," he said.

"The move has been really good and the lads have made it really easy. The travelling has not been too bad either so it's going well.

"I look to score around 10 goals a season and that's my target with Worcester.

"Saturday's win was important and puts us back on course and on top of the table. We've finally given someone a hammering and I knew it was coming sooner or later and it's filled us with confidence."

Wilde will play against Aldershot Town on Saturday hoping to improve a pretty average FA Trophy record.

"It's not been too kind to me and I've usually been out by the third round," he said.

"But it's a great competition and one that all the players are looking forward to and one we will be giving 100 per cent to."

Wilde however has an ace up his sleeve to bring to the game because the 22-year-old shares a house with Billericay's Roy Essandoh who recently played against The Shots in the Ryman Premier Division.

Striker Essandoh of course hit the headlines a few years ago when he scored the winner for Wycombe against Leicester City after answering an appeal over the internet.

"Roy's given me a few tips on Aldershot and he reckons that they are a big team but if we can get at their defenders they are not as sharp as they could be," he added.

Meanwhile manager John Barton expects to field an unchanged squad for Saturday's match.

Mark Shail is unlikely to feature after missing Saturday's reserve game following his comeback against Boldmere the previous week after experiencing slight discomfort in his knee.

The good news is he trained well on Monday night and he could be needed for the Hinckley game in 10 days time with Paul Carty and Darren Middleton suspended.

David Foy is upbeat about his injury and continues to make good progress though February is the return date pencilled in by his surgeon.

Stewart Hadley is still hoping to return by Christmas while Marc Burrow is now running again and kicking a ball but has no firm date in mind for his comeback.
