NEW signing Asa Charlton is not used to sitting on the bench but admits he could have quite a wait after Worcester City's promising start to the season.

The 24-year-old former Stourport Swifts player has been drafted as left-sided cover but the in-form Paul Carty, whose place is most obviously under threat, has responded with a succession of solid performances.

Charlton, who leapt at the chance to move to St George's Lane, has been impressed with what he has seen during his two games, particularly the second half display against Newport on Monday. "It was superb the way we came back and the crowd really seemed to get behind us," he said. "I'm really looking forward to getting involved and enjoyed my stint against Chelmsford.

"My aim is to get into the team but the way the lads are playing at the moment I'm just going to have to wait for my chance."
