NINETEEN-year-old defender Dan Jones could make his debut in Worcester City's crucial FA Cup clash at Hucknall Town tomorrow.

Manager John Barton revealed that the teenager is in the frame for a start in the third qualifying round match with City's squad riddled with injury and suspension.

The St George's Lane boss was unhappy with Tuesday's defeat at Bath City and admits if possible he would shake up the team to jolt them back into form.

"I would love to be going to Hucknall with everybody available but that is not going to be the case unfortunately," he said.

"Dan Jones is under consideration and that is something I've got to think about between now and kick-off.

"His chance will come, though it is probably unlikely he will start tomorrow but he is certainly in our thoughts."

Violent

Leon Jackson is out as he starts a three match ban following his sending off for violent conduct against Stamford in the last round but Barton remains hopeful David Holmes and John Snape would be fit despite suffering ankle knocks. The pair had treatment last night and didn't train.

Barton has seen Hucknall in action and remains confident City can achieve a result and win the £10,000 at stake.

"It's another tough hurdle to get past and similar to ties such as St Blazey and Belper Town that we had last year and we have got to be our best," he said.

"They've only lost a couple of matches with the bulk of their games ending in draws, but having recognised that they are a tough side I feel we can win if we play to our potential.

"As a team we have not had many setbacks this year but Tuesday against Bath was certainly one of them -- as always the test is how we bounce back."
