NEW signing Mitch Counsell is expected to make his debut for Worcester City in tomorrow's clash at Moor Green (3pm).

The midfielder, who has signed from Hellenic side Bishop's Cleeve, impressed during a full-scale practice match last night and City's assistant manager Mick Tuohy is confident he will play some part during the game.

"I will speak to manager John Barton tonight and I wouldn't have a problem if he put him in right from the start," he said.

"I'm not saying that will happen but he will play a part without a shadow of a doubt.

"Mitch was up against Jon Holloway and it was very interesting to see and I think he will be a very useful addition to the squad.

"He's very fit, nice and tidy, gets his foot in and breaks things up. I'm quite delighted -- he gave me a lift just seeing him."

Young goalkeeper Shaun Hayes will replace Paul Wyatt on the bench and there was a further boost last night when injured trio, striker Stewart Hadley and defenders Mark Shail and Marc Burrow, all took part in the practice match.

"I think all three plus Paul Wyatt will play in the reserves on Saturday which will bring them a step closer to the first team," said Tuohy.

"It gave everyone a lift to see them back and Stewart's touch and awareness is still there -- it's something we have missed."

Adam Wilde and Adam Webster had treatment on hamstring strains last night but will play tomorrow.

Tuohy believes his players will relish playing on the Moorlands' surface. "One of the pluses is that we are playing on a good surface against a good footballing side," said Tuohy. "I saw them against Stafford and they have come on a lot."

Tuohy also revealed the door was not shut on former West Brom star Richard Sneekes who rejected a chance to join City after announcing his retirement.

"He was honest and said he could not commit himself over the next few weeks because of business interests but we've left the door open and you never know," added Tuohy.
