TV funny man Bobby Davro is to appear at the Lifford Hall in Broadway next Wednesday.

The Village Entertainment Group (VEG) hope his outrageous show entitled Not in Front of the Children will raise loads of cash towards the Lifford Hall's loan fund.

Bobby made his TV debut in 1981 but his major breakthrough came with an appearance in Live At Her Majesty's Theatre in 1983, which led to several popular TV series.

In 1991 he moved to the BBC and made three series, then returned to the box in 1997 as host of Yorkshire Television's Winner Takes All for 65 programmes.

Apart from TV appearances he's in demand for pantomime, summer shows, corporate entertaining, awards presentations, golf shows and late night cabaret.

VEG organiser Dave Smith said: "We've never had a show on Wednesday before but we were glad to get Bobby at all. He's not long finished a three-month panto season in Birmingham, and his agent told me he was in our area so we took the day he could make it."

Doors open at the Lifford Hall at 7pm for an 8pm start. Tickets, at £15, Mr Smith said are going fast from Broadway Post Office, telephone 01386 853377. They can also be bought from Evesham Book Centre on 01386 45567.
