STOURPORT Swifts hope to bolster their squad with two loan signings ahead of tomorrow's Dr Martens League Western Division game at Shepshed Dynamo (3pm).

Manager Tim Langford has earmarked two players - a midfielder and a striker - from higher graded clubs, and hopes to complete the deals today.

He said: "We need numbers, basically."

Simon Marsh is unavailable tomorrow and swifts also have injury doubts over Adam Nicholls (ankle) and Alex Cowley (groin), who were both hurt in Tuesday's Worcester Royal Infirmary Cup win at Bromsgrove.

Langford says victory is essential at Shepshed, who are four places below Swifts in 16th, tomorrow if his side want to realise their ambitions in their first season in the league.

He added: "If we have aspirations of getting into the top six we have to go to places like Shepshed and win.

"With us playing one league game in January, it is important we start to put a run together to enable us to start climbing the table. I think we are not a middle-of-the-table side - we can be a top six team.

"Shepshed is not the best place to go and play - that is what makes us probably even more determined to go up there and get a result."
