IT was a deeply satisfying final league weekend for Worcester Norton Hockey Club's women with all four teams winning with an aggregate score of 15 goals to 0.

There was an historic 'double' for the club with the first and second teams winning their res-pective leagues.

The thirds trounced Evesham 4-0 to put the threat of relegation into their own hands for the final match and the fourth team finished half way in Worcestershire Division Three with a 1-0 win over Bromsgrove thirds.

Worcester's first team completed their league season with a 7-0 win over Loughborough Students that was purely academic as their Midland Premier League title was won as long ago as March 1.

Their objective now is the sequence of five play-off matches against the other regional champions for the two places in the National League that runs during April and May.

Worcester seconds victory over Kings Heath brought them the Worcester-shire Division One title and entry into the play-offs for the Midland League following in the footsteps of the first team's success in 1998.

They too will be training hard for the one-off match that will be against the winner of the game between Redditch and Bournville who are both being relegated from the Midland League.

On Saturday the first and second teams are involved in a training game, the thirds are away to Badsey in a friendly fixture.

Badsey are riding high in Worcestershire Division Two and will provide excellent opposition for the third team in preparation for their final postponed league fixture against Camp Hill, which will decide the second relegation place from Division Two on a date yet to be confirmed.

The fourths are also away in a friendly fixture, this time to Jaguar Ladies.
