IT has been a frustrating few seasons for the talented Andy Ducros but he returned on Saturday looking like he meant business.

Record signing Ducros lasted the full 90 minutes in his first appearance of the season, a rare feat under previous boss Jan Molby.

Confined to the bench previously, the 24-year-old ex-England youth international was finally unleashed against Darlington.

Playing behind a front two of Bo Henriksen and Ian Foster, Ducros won a penalty, impressing with his creativity and confidence on the ball.

He is sure to figure again at home but whether Britton will see the diminutive attacker as an option in tough away matches is another matter.

Ducros said: "I'd like to play every game but it's how the manager sees me. The way we play at home does suit me.

"Linking the midfield and the forwards is a big part of my game. I like to play behind the strikers but also the three up-front we used last season.

"It gives me more licence to drop off and link up with the midfield, bringing other people into the play.

"I think I can play better with the sharpness and confidence a run in the team would give me.

"But considering I haven't had a game for a few weeks, I felt it wasn't too bad.

"There are no reserve games and we've had a couple of decent results so you have just got to be patient and wait for your chance."

As for the penalty, Ducros admitted some referees may not have pointed to the spot.

He added: "I went for the ball after Bo's pass but the defender marking Bo read it.

"However, the defender on the blindside came to block me off and didn't need to as I wasn't going to get the ball.

"It was a blatant push. Some referees wouldn't have spotted it but luckily this one did."
