THE Boxing Day result was far more important than the display, according to relieved boss Ian Britton.

Harriers limped to a 3-2 win over 10-man Leyton Orient, thanks to Danish ace Bo Henriksen's excellent late winner.

It was their second win in a row, setting Britton's men up for another potentially long unbeaten run.

He admitted: "The result was better than the way we played. I thought we just did enough in the end but we didn't play very well.

"I'll take the result though because we have played a lot better than that and lost."

Britton was not impressed with the two goals conceded and expected better after the clean sheet at Wrexham the previous Saturday.

He continued: "I thought we might have carried on from our Wrexham win but I was disappointed from the very first ball we had which we kicked out straight away.

"Things like that set the tone and that proved to be the case.

"We were off the pace early on and they were quicker and sharper than us, it was as simple as that.

"Both goals against us were poor goals. We get the defending right one weekend and then it goes again."

The Harriers boss did admit to having some sympathy for hard-working Orient, managed by Paul Brush, who deserved something out of the game.

He added: "To be fair to Leyton Orient, if I was their manager and had led 2-1 with 10 men I would be disappointed.

"But it has happened to me before too and you have to look after yourself."
