TOP scorer Bo Henriksen admitted his recent wastefulness in front of goal had been playing on his mind after he grabbed Kidderminster Harriers' winner against Bournemouth on Tuesday.

Though he fired a spectacular strike at Darlington, the 12-goal forward had been failing to put away his easier chances this year.

But the talented Dane, widely recognised as one of the best technical players at Aggborough, netted a close-range header against their fellow play-off chasers.

Henriksen said: "The whole thing started against Rushden last month when I began missing chances.

"You start thinking about what you are doing too much instead of just doing it. Scoring is a natural thing for a striker.

"I was just happy to finish off that chance against Bournemouth. It hasn't been so much fun at the club in recent weeks and everyone has been a bit down.

"But the gaffer has been doing a brilliant job trying to keep our heads up and be positive. That's what us footballers need, we can be a bit spoilt!"

The former Danish Super League winner was particularly delighted with Harriers' much-improved defensive display and praised new keeper Fraser Digby.

Henriksen continued: "Overall, we played some of the best football we have produced all season, especially defensively.

"I don't know much about our new keeper but he made one class save and that's what a top keeper can do, even if he is not that busy for 90 minutes.

"We have had more goals going in than any other team in this league recently. If you can keep a clean sheet, that's the most important thing.

"We know we can score anyway and it creates confidence for the whole team if we can do that at the back. But I can't complain about the defence when I'm not putting chances away myself!"
