A woman had her fingers trapped in a van door during a road-rage attack.

The incident began at about 7.15pm on Tuesday, March 18, on St Kenlems Road, Romsley.

The unnamed woman was driving towards Romsley when she was in collision with what was possibly a white Ford Transit van which had a Corgi registered sticker on the back or side, travelling in the opposite direction.

She stopped and saw the wing mirror was broken. The driver of the van drove off but turned around after a short distance and followed her.

She continued her journey until she reached her parents' home off Fieldhouse Lane in Romsley.

When she arrived the man in the van followed her up the drive.

He demanded her details and when she went towards the van for some paper he trapped her hand in the door. He then got into the van and drove off damaging fences as he left.

The woman was treated for bruising at the Alexandra Hospital.

Now police are appealing for information to the incident.

PC Dave Roberts, from Rubery, said: "The woman was very shocked and distressed by this incident. She has suffered bruising to her hand in an attack on the doorstep of her parents home.

"The man is described as white, of large build with short hair and a round face. His white van had damage to the rear bumper and the wing mirror had been ripped off and it may be that he has taken the van in for repairs.

"I would like to hear from anyone who has any information on 08457 444 888."
