OPINIONS were divided on the suitability of a new stone and marble pulpit to be installed in St John's Parish Church, Bromsgrove. Some believed it would be out of place in the fine old building. The present oak pulpit had replaced an elaborate three decker wooden structure in the nave, built in 1744 for £41. Further, elaborate decoration had added an extra £20 to the cost.

BROMSGROVE Poultry Club's plan for a show to be held in the town hall on Boxing Day had successfully taken off. The popularity of the venture was emphasised by the fact that prize money on offer was £50 plus special prizes and medals. There would also be classes for pets, caged birds and rabbits.

Dr CORBETT of Impney, Droitwich Spa, had contributed £1,000 towards the cost of the new county sanatorium at Knightwick which opened this week where patients suffering from consumption would be sent.

WORCESTERSHIRE Football Association met for a disciplinary meeting at the Rifleman's Arms pub in Droitwich to adjudicate on an incident concerning Bryant, a Feckenham player, during a recent match. When the ref returned to the dressing rooms he found his clothes had been cut, his jacket sleeves tied and turned inside out and his pockets filled with sawdust.
