BUSINESSES across Worcestershire are being urged to be more open and honest about their operations.

In research conducted by Co-operative Insurance Society people from across the Midlands have outlined the resolutions they believe companies should make.

The research showed 72 per cent of Midlands residents strongly believed that a top priority for companies should be honestly and 64 per cent argued that companies should be responsible members of society.

It revealed 60 per cent believed that social reports were a good idea and companies should produce them. And 47 per cent believed companies should communicate with their customers and wider society.

"It's important that we listen closely to the views of our customers," said CIS head of communications, Russ Brady. "Research such as this helps us develop our business strategy as well as our stance on environmental issues, our community involvement programme, human resources strategies and socially responsible investment policy."
