AN author from Devon, who is working on a biography of a leading railway engineer, is looking for information about the man's daughter, who he thinks went to school in the Malvern area.
Peter Grafton, of Paignton, is researching the life of Sir Vincent Raven, who served as the chief mechanical engineer of the North Eastern Railway from 1910 to 1923.
He thinks Sir Vincent's eldest daughter, Constance, went to Evendine, the former finishing school near Colwall, for a year. He also believes she spent a term there in 1903 covering for a member of staff.
He would like to find out what has happened to the school's archives, and is eager to hear from anyone with any information.
Mr Grafton, who has published four previous books on railway topics, can be reached on 01803 559043 or via Malvern Mem-ories on 01684 892200.
