THE Billy Clifford Memorial Trophy has attracted a good turnout from the town's squash clubs with players from the host club Manor Park and Malvern Squash Club competing in this popular event.
Manor Park chairman John Oakley said: "Over 46 players entered the handicap tournament, which I think is a sign of respect that all players have for Billy, who lost his life with his son Samuel, so tragically three years ago. He was well known to players from both clubs."
The competition has been running over recent weeks and the finals evening, open to all, for both the main tournament and the plate will take place at Manor Park next Saturday (March 1).
All proceeds raised from the tournament will be donated the RNLI who are kindly providing trophies for the finalists.
