WEST Malvern Cricket Club are busy preparing for their first tilt at Saturday league cricket after joining the Worcestershire County League for the first time.
Club captain Richard Dudley said: "We can now look forward to league cricket on Saturdays throughout the season, in addition to a small number of league fixtures on Sundays in the Catley Staite League, midweek Worcester Evening League fixtures and numerous friendly games.
"The club will welcome new players to share their progress, at probably the most beautiful cricket ground in the area, and certainly on one of the best wickets."
Preparations have started with indoor practice nets at the sports hall of the Worcester Royal Grammar School, each Friday from 7-8pm through to early April.
All new players will be made welcome at these sessions. Any one interested can make contact through the club captain, Richard Dudley on 01684 565422, chairman Bob Blackbourn, 01684 564893, or secretary, Dave Cantrell, on 01684 572764.
Annual playing membership subscriptions are £30 for seniors and various payment options are available to include family members, juniors and social membership.
