KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have a chance to move into an automatic promotion place in the Nationwide League Third Division tomorrow if they beat Boston United at York Street (3pm).
Harriers have stormed into fourth place in the table after securing three wins and a draw in their last four outings.
They are now just one point away from Bournemouth who currently occupy the third automatic promotion spot.
Several clubs, however, are bunched together in the top half of the table and Harriers boss Ian Britton knows every point will be precious in a bid to keep in the hunt.
He said: "Sooner or later one of the teams in the pack will put together a long run to pull clear.
"I think we are as capable as any team in the division of breaking away. The lads are very confident and they believe they are as good as anybody in the league.
"We've got pace and the people who are willing to go past defenders. When
they are in the mood they can cause problems to any team in this division."
Britton has yet to name his team but will again be without defenders Kenny
Coleman and Scott Stamps.
On-loan Coleman is suffering from a torn stomach muscle and could be
sidelined for at least another couple of weeks while there is better news
of long term casualty Stamps.
He is due to resume training on Monday following groin surgery and may be
in contention for a place in Harriers match against Scunthorpe United at
Aggborough a week tomorrow.
Boston, promoted from the Nationwide Conference last season, have been
finding life difficult in the Football League. They are currently in 18th
position, but have a healthy home record which boasts seven victories - as
many as Harriers.
The Pilgrims, who were deducted four points at the start of the season for
breaching rules over players' contracts last term, drew 0-0 when they
visited Aggborough in September.
They picked up a valuable 2-0 win over bottom-placed Exeter City last
Saturday and have now lost only two of their last ten matches.
FORMCAST: Harriers to edge a 2-1 win.
