THE musical past of St James' Church, West Malvern, is being resurrected to keep the church in good shape.
Tapes made of a visit by a Czech ensemble from the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music to Malvern in 1990 are being sold to raise money for the church's Society of Friends. The tape includes chamber music by Vivaldi and Purcell.
"At that point after the Berlin Wall came down, it was quite a momentous occasion," said society member Laurie Gregory.
"These are tapes that were left over from a large batch that we had made. We have got a major project on with the church roof and it will make a useful contribution."
Copies of the recording, priced £2.50, are available from St James' Church or 01684 892380.
