GARY Barnett continues to defy his age as evidenced by a string of impressive displays in the Evesham United midfield.

The ex-Kidderminster Harriers assistant manager is now in his late 30s but his appetite for the game remains undimmed, and Robins boss Phil Mullen paid tribute to him ahead of the Robins' trip to Cirencester Town in the Dr Mar-tens Western Division tomorrow (3pm).

"His enthusiasm for the game, considering where he's come from, is greatly appreciated both on and off the pitch," said Mullen. "And his performances have been excellent as well."

Evesham ran out 4-1 winners in the reverse fixture back in September but three of the goalscorers on that day - Matt Gardiner, Shaun Pratt and Leroy May - are no longer with the club.

Mullen will keep faith with the central defensive partnership of Paul West and Jay Powell despite back to back defeats to Clevedon and Redditch.

"They are the defensive bedrock of the side and although we have conceded some late goals, defensively we have been doing much better," added Mullen

Midfielder Mark Wolsey is available again while Solihull's Mark Shepherd completes his loan stay at Common Road.
