THE anti-war demonstration showed clearly that a high proportion of the population of Britain are opposed to war with Iraq.
How should Christians pray about this? I suggest they pray for the removal from power of the most dangerous man in the world today. But who is this?
Whose country is the only country in the world to have used nuclear weapons in anger?
Whose country has the worst record for the use of chemical weapons, still causing cancer and death today? (Agent Orange in Vietnam).
Whose country has demolished much of Afghanistan and threatens the destruction of Iraq, North Korea, Libya, Iran?
Whose country threatens sanctions against those who disagree, including Germany?
Whose country has more weapons of mass destruction than any other country in the world?
You get the picture. Sadly Tony Blair is mesmerised by George Bush and seems ready to follow his lead whatever the consequences. So Christians pray hard.
Yes, Saddam is a bad lot and needs deposing, but the stumbling George Bush scares me more. So let us pray for an honest and intelligent leader to take his place.
