A MALVERN-based environmental charity is encouraging householders to cut down on the amount of junk mail they receive.

Sue Fyleman, of Welcome To Our Future, says people can register their names with the Mailing Preference Service to cut down on unwanted mail.

"Not creating rubbish in the first place is the best starting point to create a world that is fit for our children to grow up in," she said.

"If we can stop junk mail at source, that's by far the best solution and we can avoid the waste and pollution taken to produce it in the first place."
