THE ACORNS appeal to build a new hospice for sick children in the Three Counties has raised £2.4 million to date.
The new 10-bed hospice is expected to open on the outskirts of Worcester next year and will offer respite, emergency and terminal care for life-limited children and teenagers.
John Overton, Acorns chief executive, said: "I'm thrilled the appeal is continuing to go well and it's encouraging to be at £2.4m at this stage in the campaign."
He said that £4 million was needed to build and equip the new hospice, so there was still some way to go.
"This is very much a local appeal to help local families and youngsters and I would urge everyone to give it their support," he added.
Anyone who would like to donate to the appeal should telephone 01905 767676.
