HOW sad to read (Your Letters, February 7) the description, by Mrs V Wallcroft, of Mathon, of 'jobsworth' applied to a MHDC employee actually doing what they get paid to do.

The bye-laws for parking in Malvern car parks are clear and concise, as are the consequences of a failure to adhere to those bye-laws.

Had Mrs Wallcroft been catching a plane, it would have left without her, going to the cinema, the film would have started.

The council has a legal obligation to enforce its bye-laws for the benefit of the whole not the few who wish to be immune from such bye-laws.

I have recently observed extensive abuse by a minority of people using our car parks. There are those who think using disabled spaces wrongly, parking all day without paying and ignoring fines is acceptable. Well it isn't.

I can agree that Malvern is dying, but not due to abuse of car parking.

If you are unhappy with the parking system, then lobby the councillors, don't malign the messengers.

I am delighted to see our new traffic warden and the MHDC employees sorting out the few who spoil it for the many.

If a 'jobsworth' doing, then it is a job well done!
