A BINGO night held to raise money for Upton Youth band last week has pulled in more than £50.
Between 40 and 50 people, both adults and children, turned out at Upton Memorial Hall for the event on Saturday afternoon.
"It was quite well supported," said the band's spokesman Nicki Taha, "Everyone had a good time."
The money will be used to help the band in their forthcoming competition season, which starts on June 8 in Bilston, near Wolverhampton.
The costs of transporting band members and their instruments around the country means every penny counts.
This year they have received a helping hand from Upton Town Council and the National Foundation for Youth Music, who awarded the band grants of £300 and £195 respectively towards travel costs.
Some of the money was used to fund recruitment workshops towards the end of last year, which led to six new members joining the band.
