CHILDREN enjoyed the freedom of half-term holidays with loads of activities at Madresfield Early Years Centre .

Between 25 and 35 children aged between three and 11, attended a half-term playscheme at the centre each day, mixing with under-threes who attend through the school term as well.

There they enjoyed sports, crafts, an adventure playground, looking after the centre's pets, playing games and a lot more from Monday until today (Friday).

"The parents who have to carry on working know that their children can come along, be looked after and have a good time in the process," said the centre's out of school care manager Cath Glover.

"They are happy that their children are here and having the opportunity to do lots of different things."

Ms Glover said the children too had a great time.

"It's dry, so we were able to get outside," she said.

The Early Years Centre opened at Hayswood Farm nine years ago and since then has looked after hundreds of children both during school time and in the holidays.

The centre has two buildings for playing in, a garden, a football field, a playground and an adventure playground.
