THE origin of "a load of codswallop" is explained at Malvern Antiques and Collectors Fair on Sunday, March 2, at the Three Counties Showground.
Stallholder Gary Higgins is bringing a selection of Cod's lemonade bottles from the Victorian period. The bottles were the very first to have glass stoppers in their necks and codswallop was a derogatory reference to the liquid inside them.
The fair is in the Severn Hall from 8.30am to 5pm.
