FUTURISTIC horror, talented youngsters, physical comedy and cultured music will take turns to step into the limelight at The Courtyard next week.

First up at the Hereford venue is Perrier Award-winning comic Dylan Moran, star of surreal Channel Four comedy Black Books, who brings his brand of stand-up to the Main House on Mon-day evening.

Following on will be Ennio Marchetto, whose bewilderingly fast change of costume are sure to make him a hit with fans of physical humour. The Italian comedian, des-cribed as "a living cartoon", will also be appearing in the Main House on Tuesday night.

The warm voice and harp skills of Mire N Cathasaigh will combine with virtuoso guitar from Chris Newman the night after. The well-travelled duo will be blending bluegrass and baroque with Celtic and jazz styles.

Thursday night will see the Zenith Chamble Ensemble Piano Quintet take to the stage, playing pieces by Dvork and Elgar. Those under 14 get in free with an adult.

Musicians from closer to home will be showing what they can do on Friday night, with the Herefordshire Young Musicians' Showcase. Some of the county's finest young soloists and ensembles will be playing a wide variety of pieces from baroque to contemporary.

Finally Snap Theatre Company's interpretation of Anthony Burgess' vision of a nightmare future will take to the stage on Saturday. Clockwork Orange centres on the violent but charismatic figure of gang leader Alex and is not suitable for those under 15 years old.

Information and tickets for the shows are available on 01432 359252.
