The full programme has now been printed for the weekend of events planned by the Friends of the Dymock Poets on March 22-23.

Secretary Catharine Luck said Saturday's events will start with a daffodil walk around Dymock, followed by an optional pub lunch at the Beauchamp Arms.

In the evening, the Burgage Hall in Church Lane, Ledbury, will be the venue for a talk on the Dymock poet Wilfrid Gibson of Hexham and the poetry of Northumberland.

This will be given by Tyneside poet Keith Armstrong, who is an expert on Gibson, and Northumberland poet Katrina Porteous will be the special guest.

On Sunday, March 23, a coach tour beginning at Ledbury Market House will take in the area's literary and cultural connections.

Names to be conjured with will include poet laureate John Mase-field, Elgar, Elizabeth Barrett Browning and W H Auden, as well as the six Dymock poets, who were Lascelles Abercrombie, Wilfrid Gibson, John Drink-water, Rupert Brooke, Robert Frost and Edward Thomas.

A pamphlet giving further details is available now from the Tourist Information Centre in The Homend, Ledbury.
