I KNOW I always say how good our dances are at Bushley Village Hall, and it's true. The Valentine's dance held on February 14 was no exception, approximately 130 guests attended. The hall was decorated appropriately with red hearts and balloons and even a life size frog! I didn't see anyone kiss him in the hope that there was a handsome prince underneath! Music was supplied by Sapphire, who tell us they always enjoy coming to Bushley and what a pleasure it is to play music and have the dance floor full. To musicians nothing is more frustrating than when no-one will dance, but that's not the case with us. A light salad supper followed by dessert, cheese and biscuits and coffee was served during the interval by members of the village hall committee. Credit must go to Betty Greenwood and Jean Masefield who do the majority of the organising and the work. Later a raffle was drawn, dancing then continued until 12.30am and even then guests seemed reluctant to leave! Proceeds benefit the village hall. The next dance will be the Halloween one on Friday, October 31.
