Evesham and District League

THE two top teams, Offenham RBL and Stanton Club, came head to head at Stanton.

After some good shooting the result was down to Stanton's last shooter, Ron Rose, requiring a maximum to share the points and having only scored one other maximum in over 40 years of shooting the odds seemed stacked against him but he got one and Stanton Club erupted, the scores being 281-281. The highest score for Offenham was also a maximum by Stephy Anderson, this being her fourth of the season.

Third-placed Lygon Arms took on Badsey RBL at home and came out winners 274-267 with Steve Pratt scoring a 47 for the Lygon and Barry Davies the same for Badsey.

Wickhamford SSC played host to Campden RBL but the home team lost to the visitors 272-280 with Nick Taylor scoring a 47 for the home team and Bob Pitcher, Dennis Buckland and Will Haines all scoring 48 for the visitors.

Badsey Rec were at home to Broadway FC and took both points with a 265-255 victory. Ashley Green scored a 49 for Badsey and Garry Thompson a 46 for Broadway.

In the match between Bengeworth SSC and Bidford RBL the visitors took the honours 257-266 with Donna Saxton high scoring with a 47 and Alan Ewins, Graham Steed and John Shrimpton all scoring 46 for Bidford.
