Shareholders have backed plans to sell carpet firm Tomkinson's Kidderminster headquarters with a potential loss of 60 jobs.
The vote took place at an extraordinary general meeting on Friday where owner Gaskell also agreed to sell its tile division for £17 million.
Christopher Tomkinson, whose great grandfather started the business in 1869, was a shareholder involved in the meeting.
He said: "It's a sad day for the family but we have to move with the times."
He added he thought at least 40 jobs would be retained in the warehousing and storage sector.
Ken Penton, of the ISTC union said: "I am obviously bitterly disappointed at the outcome but we will continue working with the company to maintain as many jobs as possible."
