l ELEVEN-year-old athlete, Rhiannon Linington-Payne of Crumpsbrook, near Clee Hill, has run her way into a junior national cross-country finals.
The pupil at Moor Park School, near Ludlow, came first when she represented Shropshire in the Under 13s section of a national cross-country championships at Nottingham on Sunday. She earned the chance to compete after finishing second in the Shropshire championships held recently in Telford.
In addition to cross-country, Rhiannon plays for the school at hockey and rounders and is captain of the Under 11s netball team.
Rhiannon has now gained a sports scholarship at the independent girls' School, Abbots Bromley.
